About Us
Nancy and Sven
Nancy was born in California and grew up as a DSN brat, in California, Florida, Alaska, and Spain.
Sven was born in Sweden and flitted back and forth between Sweden and the US for a couple of decades.
We met at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (part of the California Institute of Technology) where we have spent 30-40 years each dedicated to space exploration and research.

Senta II
Senta II is a 1977 Ericson 39B designed by the renowned naval architect Bruce King.
Senta II is named after Sven’s father’s father’s 60’ Yawl Senta.
Senta II was lovingly cared for and restored by her prior owner, the author Lew Decker.
She had been mainly daysailed for decades so there is a lot of cruising equipment that we have had to install and are still installing, such as solar panels, refrigeration, windvane steering etc..
Since you are here on this site you probably already know us and something about Senta II, but this is a brief introduction if you don’t
Looking out over Catalina Harbor off the Southern California Coast.
Our Adventure
We’ve done our part for JPL and the US space program so we are setting off to explore on the oceans while we are still young and healthy enough to do so on our own.
It is our intention to be as self sufficient as possible for the next ten to fifteen years, or longer. During that time we will enjoy each others’ company and do terrestrial exploration to our hearts’ content.
Our Route
In an abbreviation: TBD !
We are starting from Cabrillo Marina inside the Los Angeles breakwater. We will not head South with the Baja Ha-Ha flotilla as we’d previously thought.
We ended up coastal hopping up the California coast and spent almost a month in San Francisco bay where we completed a number of tasks like the refrigeration installation.
Next we will head south towards Mexico and beyond and then either head towards Sweden via the Panama Canal or further south. The Galapagos islands are a desired destination. Or we may cruise to the South Pacific island chains, to New Zealand and maybe Australia then up to Hawaii and maybe on to Alaska.
